I got to see this today and it is definitely the best superhero movie to have come out in a long time. Better than Spiderman or any of the X-Men movies.
Robert Downey Jr. is phenomenal in this role. Of course he has a bit of experience playing an alcoholic playboy with a big ego. The special effects were good but not over done. Effects should compliment a story and not overshadow it and they pull that off nicely here. I am also glad that they didn't throw in a ton of supervillains or other super heroes. So many superhero movies anymore seem to fall short on plot and to make up for it they feel the need to throw in a bunch of characters to thrill the fanboys in the audience. This movie focuses on Tony Stark and doesn't have any super powered bad guys. That character by himself is deep enough to carry the movie. The one piece of advice I will give is that if you are a comic book fan then stay until after the credits end. There is a nice surprise waiting.

I was very impressed with Iron Man. It was very well-done, and the special effects were just enough, not overdone like so many movies. The comic relief was
placed just right. As for the post-credits "Easter Egg", I'm already chomping at the bit for a sequel!

I've heard great reviews about it so far. Also looking forward to the second "Narnia" movie.

Still haven't seen it. I am working on a "delayed" schedule because I keep up with the dvd release dates instead of the new releases at the
theater. Has anyone seen the Spiderwick Chronicles? Was it good?

i enjoyed it. a good fantasy story told well without a ridiculously long drawn out plot. =) oh, and i really liked your break down of iron man the skell. i am
terrible at explaining why i like/hate something. it is so much easier to say it rocks/sucks! *use your words, koda*
